Operation Riot

My band is all that matters, we’ve been through so much together, and always had each other’s backs. So when the label gives me the ultimatum to change my image or lose my dream, I don’t have a choice, I have to comply. I can’t let the guys down. I can’t let the last few years be for nothing. It’s time to shed the khakis and polos. After all, I am a rock star, even if I don’t feel like one. I expected the whole process to be miserable, but I didn’t expect the stylist to be a gorgeous spitfire who makes me question what’s really important.

My assignment is easy, a makeover for the lead singer of my favorite band. This is what I’m good at, and I’m the epitome of professional the entire time. Ok, I might have fan girled a little bit when I first met him, but who can blame me? He’s so different than I expected. Better. There’s a bad boy hidden under the collar shirts and pressed pants, who knew? It’s my job to make the world see him as the rock star he is, not to fall head over heels in love.

Going on tour with my band for six months can’t be that hard, right? What about when you throw a five-year-old onto the tour bus with us?

My ex complicated everything when she decided she didn’t want to be a mother to our daughter anymore. Harley is all mine. The daughter of a rock star. The only problem is I don’t have anyone to watch her while I’m working or on stage.

My sister’s an idiot. She gave up all rights to her daughter without telling a single person. I would’ve taken that little girl into my home and treated her as my own. My life revolves around Harley. She’s the only thing that matters to me. I have no choice but to contact her dad and practically beg for a chance to spend time with her… except he gives me so much more than I hoped for.

Can I put it all on the line for a chance with the rock star?

The manager of our band, Sasha, is one wrong move away from being fired. She knows it. I know it. Hell, the damn bus driver knows it. She doesn’t give a crap about anything except how we look to our fans. I’m the only one that can get under her skin and I’m playing my strengths. I’m going to push her until she can’t take it anymore. Only she surprises me when I really get to know her. And I’m not sure I can stay away anymore.

He’s a pain in my ass. The one band member who knows how to get to me. I hate him so much it hurts and there’s no escaping when you’re on a tour bus. The only thing separating us is a thin piece of fabric and I feel like I’m suffocating with him so close. When he asks me to spend a day off with him, I refuse… until I hear the conditions. One day and then he’ll stay away from me for the rest of the tour. Except that one day changes my whole life.

One single air-drop can change your entire world.

I’m tired of being surrounded by happy couples. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for my friends, but I’m tired of being alone. When a mistaken identity has me accepting an air-drop from a complete stranger, I begin to wonder if my days alone are coming to an end.

I’m getting bored following this band across the country. I’m not here for the music. I’m here to spend time with my sister. When another name pops up on my air-drop list, I decide to take a chance. I didn’t expect him to respond. I didn’t expect him to want to meet me, but there’s no going back now.
