Charlie's Boys

“First off, ew.  Nick lives with me too.  He’s like… ew.  Can we not even think about us dating?”  Addi’s face scrunches up in disgust.

“Yeah, I was never gonna jump on that band wagon.”  Nick throws his head back laughing, his arm around Kendra’s shoulders.

“Still say you should’ve chosen me.”  Blake says in a sing song voice, his eyebrows wiggling suggestively.  “I woulda rocked your world, baby.”

“Shut the fuck up, Emerson.”  Wes growls, his arm tightening around Addi.  She pats his knee, snuggling into his side.

“I mean, at first, yes, I found them all hot.”

“Woot!  Take that, Wes!”  Lincoln yells.

“Wait, what!”  Wes’s jaw drops open.  His eyes widening as he stares down at Addi.  “Seriously?  What the fuck, babe!”

“Oh hush, I don’t want any of them now.”

“Nah, she just uses us for eye candy.”  Cole smirks from the corner of the room.

“What’s eye candy?”  Charlie’s innocent voice asks from Nate’s lap.

Lincoln opens his mouth to respond but Wes cuts him off.

“Don’t you fucking dare, Brooks.”  Lincoln holds up his hands, backing down.

“Anyway…”  Addi rolls her eyes.  “No one…”  She glares at Wes, “can deny they’re all hot.  But Blake and Lincoln were just too much to handle in the beginning.  Hunter and I… well, you obviously know about that.  Cole and I didn’t hang out a whole lot and Captain is like a brother.”  She throws Nate a sweet smile.  They truly do love each other like adoptive siblings.  “And let me say again, Nick… just ew.”

“Nick’s not ew.”  Kendra rolls her eyes.  “I woulda taken all seven of them.”  She shrugs her shoulders.

Lincoln smirks, biting his bottom lip.  Blake throws Kendra a wink and Nick’s about to punch both of them.

“Stop looking at my girlfriend!”

“I still can’t believe she actually gave in and is dating your ass.”

“Wes was… he was it for me.  I can’t imagine forever without him by my side.”  Addi says above the bickering.

“We could just kick all these fuckers out.”  Wes shrugs, glaring at all of the guys.  They chuckle, rolling their eyes.

“You wouldn’t know what to do without us, big guy.”  Lincoln coos.  “We make you look better.”

“Ain’t that the damn truth.”  Addi laughs.  “For real though, we’re gonna need a bigger house but I’m not ready to let go of all these guys.  They’re my family, my brothers, my friends.  I think I’d feel lost without them.”

“What am I?  Chopped Liver?”  Wes pouts like a child, sticking his bottom lip out.

Addi stretches up, cupping her hand around her mouth and whispers something in his ear.  His eyes widen, his jaw drops and a slow smile spreads over his face.

“Nope, the guys stay.  I’ll build a bigger house.”  He announces cheerfully.

“Bet ya she just promised to blow him.”  Lincoln snorts, elbowing Blake.

Blake and Lincoln slowly raise their hands, devilish smirks on their faces.  They glare at each other clearly thinking the other isn’t worthy of pissing off Wes the most.

“What is this, a fucking competition?  You both are a pain in my ass.”

“But you love us.”  Blake sings.

“You wanna kiss and hug us.”  Lincoln continues.

“I wanna punch you in the nose.”

“Daddy!  You aren’t allowed to go around punching people.  That’s not very kind of you.  Do you think Jesus would like that?”

“No.”  Wes grumbles.

Blake and Lincoln’s smirks grow impossibly larger.

“And this right here,” he motions to the two of them, “Is why they share the title of pissing me off the most.  Always getting Charlie on their side.”

Charlie leaps off of Blake’s lap and runs to Wes, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck.

“You’re my daddy forever and always, which means I’m always on your side.  You’re my favorite.”  She gives him a loud kiss on the cheek then glare at Lincoln and Blake.  “Be nice to my daddy or you’ll regret it!”

“Shit, did we just get threatened by a six-year-old?”  Lincoln’s mouth falls open in surprise.

“Is it weird I’m more scared of her than him?”  Blake whispers to Lincoln, never taking his eyes off Charlie.

“Nah, I’m right there with you, man.”

“I love my boys, all of them.  I gots my big boys and I gots my baby boys.”  She smiles as she glances around the room.

“What if we have a girl next?”  Wes asks.

“Are you having another baby?”  Charlie’s eyes widen, her face fills with hope.

Addi’s eyes widen but more in fear than anything else.

“No!  Nope.  Not having another baby.  I just popped out these two.”

“But mommmmmmy!  I want a baby sister!”

“Thanks a lot, Wes.”  She grumbles.

“Hey, I’m all about practicing for a girl.”  He kisses behind her ear and down her neck.  Her eyes slide shut as she enjoys the sensation.  Then she stiffens, palms his face and pushing him away.

“Wesley Robinson!  Keep your hands to yourself!”

“Can’t blame a guy for trying.”  He smirks.  “I got all night.”

“I want at least one more.”  Addi says.  “Wait how many are on a baseball team?”

“Oh my gosh, Addi!  Do you pay attention at all when you come to our games?”  Blake moans in frustration.

“You both know we don’t care about the game, right?  We just come to check out those baseball pants.”  Kendra laughs.

“Exactly!  I’m not counting the players, I’m counting the nice asses… There’s five nice ones on your team in case you were wondering.”

“You know I’m sitting right here, right?”  Wes’s gaze narrows.

“It’s not my fault you quit baseball before we met.  I’d love to see you in baseball pants.”  Addi bites her bottom lip, eyes scanning Wes’s body.

“Are we done here?  I have somewhere I need to be.”

Wes stands up, trying to pull Addi with him.  She laughs and pulls him back down to the couch.

“Later, hot stuff.”

“Wait wait wait, I’m still stuck on the fact that five guys have nice asses.  Who?  I need names?  Because if I’m not at the top of that list, I’m gonna be pissed.”  Lincoln crosses his arms over his chest, glaring at Addi and Kendra.

“Alright, number five… Daniels.”  Kendra holds up a finger, Addi nods eagerly in agreement.

“Why do I have a feeling they’ve discussed this exact topic before?”  Nick leans over and whispers to Wes.

“We both know they probably have… Why did we quit baseball again?”  Wes asks.

“I wish I knew.”  Nick laughs.

“Neither one of you had what it took to be the best.”  Blake smirks.

“Number four… Peterson.”  Addi says and Kendra holds up another finger.

“Peterson?  That guy’s such a tool.”  Lincoln argues.

“Maybe but I like his ass in baseball pants.”  Kendra laughs.  “Number three… Jacobs.”

“Ohhh, that’s a good one!”

“Have you seen his arms?”  Kendra fans her face with her hand.

“How the hell does this not bother you?”  Wes gestures to Kendra.

“Eh, she’s coming home to me every night.  Those guys couldn’t handle her.”  Nick pulls Kendra into his embrace and kisses her forehead.

“Number two… hmm… that’s a hard one.”  Addi taps her chin.

“I mean it’s kinda a tie… But who do we choose?”  Kendra moves her mouth from side to side.

“Shit, it’s between us.”  Blake grumbles.

“Oh, hell no!  I have a better ass than Everson!”

He jumps off the couch and shows off his ass in a pair of nicely fitted jeans.  Blake isn’t about to be out done so he does the same.

“Hmm… I know who my number one is.”  Addi says glancing over at Kendra.

“Me too.  On three?”  Addi nods and Kendra counts down from three.

“Blake!”  They both shout at the same time.  Blake does a little victory dance while Lincoln pouts his way back to the couch.

“How the hell did he win?”  He grumbles, crossing his arms over his chest.

“Do you have any idea how many squats that man does?”  Addi asks.  “It’s insane.  But you have by far the nicest arms on the team.”

Lincoln sits forward in his seat, eagerly staring at Addi and Kendra.

“Really?”

“Oh yeah!  Those other guys have nothing on you.”  Kendra insists.

A pleased look takes over Lincoln’s face, he settles back into the couch, a smug smirk on his lips.

“You know they’re only saying that to make you feel better.”  Blake provokes Lincoln.

They start arguing, showing off their biceps and flexing for the girls.

“Can we move on before they start whipping out their dicks to compare?”  Cole lets out a sigh.

“So, how many are on the team?”

“Twenty-five on the team but nine on the field at a time.”

“Oh, yeah, no.  I’m not having anywhere near nine OR twenty-five kids.  Though I suppose if you count the guys, I have my baseball team already.”  Addi’s eyes soften as she glances around at her family, a content little smile taking over her face.

“I have all my favorite people living with me.  I never have to go far to find someone to play with and my home is full of love.  I’ll never stop missing my first mommy, but I love having all my boys and my new mommy.”

“I wasn’t thrilled about living with a kid, but honestly, I can’t imagine life without the little squirt now.”  Cole says.

“Yeah, living with a kid in college wasn’t on the agenda but she’s pretty awesome.”  Hunter agrees.

“We’d never give her back, she’s ours now.”  Blake stares at Charlie, his eyes filled with love.

“Yeah, she’s fun and chill.  Pretty good with a baseball bat too.”  Lincoln gives Charlie a high five.

“She’s my best bud.”  Nate says simply.

“She’s my beautiful niece, we’d never be able to live without her.”  Nick says gently.

“She’s my baby girl.  I’m so happy to call her my daughter.”

Tears fill Charlie’s eyes as she listens to the men talk about her.

“I love them all.  I can’t imagine them not living with me.”

The Never Series

“Hey!  I’m not a softy!”

“Yes, you are.”  Miranda says sounding bored.

“I’m a football player!  How am I a softy?”

Miranda snorts with laughter, rolling her eyes at him.

“Yeah, real great football player.  You did such an amazing job at protecting Noah.”

“Miranda!  You know that wasn’t Liam’s fault.”  Frankie hisses.

“Ugh it can’t come soon enough.  I want to make her my wife.”  Noah sighs.

“Oh stop it!  I’d like to graduate high school before I get hitched.”

“Why?  Do you have doubts we’ll make it?”

“What?  No!… I just feel like it’s weird to be married in high school.  Like people will assume I’m pregnant.”

“Fuck people.  I don’t give a damn what they say, let alone think.”

“Really?”

“Of course, baby.  You’re all that matters to me and I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you.”

“Aww, let’s do it!  Let’s get married now!”

“Now?”  Surprise fills Noah’s face.

“Well, not like today… but soon… like next month?”

“Let’s do it, babe.”

Noah pulls Frankie into his arms and kisser her like it’s his last breath.

“When they smear honey over Lars chest and leave him in the woods for the bears to find.”  Noah says, a huge smile on his face.

“When Pat pushes Nicholas around on the broken go-cart.  How cute is that?”

“Yeah, I’ve never seen Heavyweights.”  Liam says.

“Me either.”  Miranda agrees.

“Why are we friends with them?”  Noah points to Liam and Miranda.

“I don’t even know how to respond.  I have no words for you two.  I’m so… disappointed… Let’s watch it now!”

“Ummm, no.  Sorry.  I was still healing and couldn’t get down on one knee.  I couldn’t wait any longer to see my ring on her finger.  I wanted the world to know she’s taken, she’s mine and only mine.”

“I don’t need him to get down on one knee.  How he did it was more special.  I’ll never forget.  Noah shows me every single day how much I mean to him, nothing else matters.”

Miranda let’s out a blissful sigh.

“They’re so freaking cute together.”

“Oh yeah, just adorable.”  Liam rolls his eyes.

“Shut your damn mouth.  Just because you lost the girl doesn’t mean you get to be a douchebag.  I’ll hit you again.”

“Why are you so violent?”

“Can’t you two ever get along?”  Frankie levels them with her best mom look.

“It’s his fault!”  Miranda pouts, crossing her arms over her chest.

“It’s her fault!”  Liam defends at the same time, letting out a huff and glaring at Miranda.

“Why do I always feel like the dad when they’re around?” Noah asks, throwing a thumb towards Miranda and Liam.

“Do I really have to answer this?”  Liam moans.

“Yup!  She asked, you answer.  Is the concept of an interview confusing to you?”  Miranda raises a brow.  “I can explain further if you’re too dumb to figure it out.”

“Can you not be a smartass for like five seconds?  That’d be great.”

“Oh my gosh!  You mean I don’t have to be a smartass?!?  No one’s ever told me that before!  Frankie, did you know this?!?”

Noah and Frankie laugh as they watch Liam and Miranda fight.

“Ok, let’s just get this over with.”  Liam grumbles.  “Noah’s always had all the girls falling at his feet.  When Frankie came, she seemed to want nothing to do with him.  I guess I hoped she’d be the girl I could have.  She’s awesome and I noticed right away.”

“Yeah, you can’t have her.  She’s all mine.”  Noah tightens his hold on Frankie, kissing her gently on the cheek.  “I won her heart long before she met you.”

“I know.  I get it.”  Liam mumbles.

“Stop it, Noah.  You’re upsetting him.”  Frankie whispers.  “If I hadn’t met Noah first, I probably would have dated Liam.”

“Exsqueeze me?”  Noah’s mouth falls open.

“What?  He’s cute and such a sweetheart.  I’d be stupid not to date him.”  She shrugs her shoulders.  “But it doesn’t matter because you stole my heart long ago, baby.  I’m not asking for it back, it’s yours to keep.”

“Damn straight.  Hear that, Liam?  She’s still mine.”
